More than an annual tradition, it is the sense of community that prevails among the Lasallians of De La Salle Lipa that urge them to partake in this noble mission of ‘Brigada Eskwela.’
In fact, the preparation prior to school opening sent a throng of members of the DLSL community to various neighboring elementary schools to contribute in whatever form they can to make sure the schools are all set for the commencement of School Year 2015-2016.
Participants from the Vice Chancellor for Mission Office, College of Education, Arts and Sciences, General Services Department, Information Communications Technology Center, Community Involvement Office, Student Services, and the Student Coordinating Board, garnered 36 volunteers on May 19, 2015.
The group’s one-day community service was focused at Malitlit – Anangi Elementary School where they repainted the classrooms, chairs, and building, covered books, redecorated the bulletin boards, and repaired whatever they could for the improvement of the schools appearance to once again uplift the spirits of the incoming pupils.
Aside from the services of the Lasallians, they also donated paint and other materials and supplements for repair and maintenance of other schools, namely, Makina Primary School, San Guillermo Elementary School, Kayumanggi Elementary School, Bolbok Elementary School and Parang Elementary School, Verde Island.
