The Hanunuo Mangyan Livelihood & Consumers (HAMALICON) Cooperative launch and first General Assembly was held on March 26, 2022 at Sitio Bailan, Brgy. Benli, Bulalacao, Oriental Mindoro. It was participated by 110 cooperative members from Sitio Bailan and Umabang along with some invited guests.

De La Salle Lipa (DLSL) is a partner of the HAMALICON Coop and was represented by Dr. Ma. Theresa Mangulabnan, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Mission; Mr. Wenifredo Angeles, Director of the Lasallian Ministries; and Ms. Michelle Lalunio, Community Involvement Office (CIO) Manager.

Mr. Anhing Maligday, Chairman of the Pundasyon Hanunuo Mangyan, Inc., Mr. Vince Tuayon and Mr. Edilberto Ferdinand Castillo, School Heads of Bailan and Umabang Elementary Schools also attended to show their support for the Cooperative.

Registration was headed by Ms. Maricel Perez, CI Officer with the assistance of the DLSL Team headed by Mr. Protacio Mea. The program was facilitated by Ms. Marichu Sidoro, teacher coordinator of the cooperative while the General Assembly was headed by Ms. Rona T. Mendez, CI Officer alongside the Board of Directors and Officers of the HAMALICON Cooperative.

The annual report, budget report, and the plans for the members of the cooperative were presented to the members during the meeting. All were approved by the majority. The election of the new Board Members of the Cooperative was also conducted along with the appointment of the chairpersons of the various committees.

The HAMALICON Cooperative leaders expressed their gratitude to all its members for their continued patronage. Simple tokens were given to everyone.
