Fernandez, fondly known as “Dodo”, started his journey in the Lasallian community when he finished his Elementary Education at De La Salle University in Manila in 1977. His academic achievements include a post-graduate Master of Education Major in Religious and Values Education at DLSU in 1999. Later on, he started his teaching career as a full-time Christian Living teacher and class advisor at De La Salle Lipa in 1993.He served in many capacities in several La Salle schools, starting as an Administrative Assistant for the Upper Years in DLSL in 1996. Later, he became the principal of the lower years, director at the Center of Spiritual Development, and Head of the Campus Ministry in De La Salle Greenhills from 1996 to 2001.
Today, he continues his passion for education and advocacy to influence the youth with positive Christian values. Besides his current stint as the President of De La Salle Lipa, he also serves as the President of De La Salle College of St. Benilde and La Salle Greenhills. He is concurrently serving as the President of PAASCU and DLSP-Nyel. On top of that, he is the Director of the Academy of St. John in General Trias, Cavite and also a director of St. Francis Academy in Dasmarinas, Cavite. He firmly believes that quality education lays the foundation for the younger generations so they can strive for a more vibrant future.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Behind the mind of this prolific academician is his passion for the arts. Though Brother Dodo dedicated most of his life to education, he has also done artist residencies worldwide. He was a part of the Vermont Studio Center in Vermont, USA, in 2010, the DRAW International in Caylus, France, in 2019, and the Shiro Unit Studio in Gunma, Japan, in 2021.
